For 25 years Tara Cooper has worked to build awareness and strategies to advance diversity, equity and inclusion in organizations and communities. During her career working in higher education, Tara gained a broad, yet deep understanding of cultural diversity and the challenges we face in advancing equity, access, diversity, and inclusion. Most recently, Tara works as a DEI consultant focusing on leadership coaching and strategic planning. She works with teams to create work environments where leaders and teams know how to navigate difficult conversations around diversity and inclusion, and people make space to hear different perspectives and learn from others. For business clients, Tara specializes in helping leaders create strong anchors for their DEI initiatives by building strategies that illuminate and prioritize the business DEI needs and also improve business outcomes. Tara holds a master’s degree in intercultural communications and is currently completing her doctorate degree in adult learning and leadership.
